รายละเอียด / Details:
Job stressors are composed of many factors such as work organization work process promotion role conflict work environment and shift work. Early detection and relevant management of job stressors can reduce workplace stress. A cross sectional descriptive study on 536 workers in an electronics watchmaker plant was carried out from May 1 to August 31, 2001. General stress questionnaires of Department of Mental Health and occupational stress questionnaires developed by adapting Karasek's job demand-control model were employed. The prevalence pf general stress and occupational stress was 24 and 15 percent. Several factors contributed to occupational stress should be managed. Decision latitude and benefits had significant inverse correlation with occupational stress (r=-0.314, p=0.00 and r=-0.175, p=0.001, consecutively). The job demand-control model can be used to assess the occupational stress risk in this workplace. Accordingly, management of the job stressors should reduce occupational stress in the workplace.
