The objectives of this research are to explore all aspects of stress relaxation service provided by centrak, general, and community hospital in Public Health Region 4,namely types of service, user characteristics, numbers of staff, supporting materials,budgets, and operating problems. Census techique is used to draw each of 54 samples from persons who represent and are responsible for mental health service in central,general, and community hospitals in DMH area 4. Structured questionnaires are distributed to respondents by mail with 43 sets returned. Percent,mean, and standard deviation are descriptive statistics used. The results reveal that : The type of stress relaxation service adopted by most of the studies hospitals is the integrated stress relaxation. Of which 55.8 percents is serviced by the hospital's mental health service 62.8 percent is offered in the hospital's common room 69.8 percent of the service is daily available. Characteristics of stress relazarion uders are those visitors, OPD patients, and transferred patients. Of which. 76.7 percent falls into individual service category. Staffs responsible for stress relaxarion are in average 1-2 persons a hospital, which are sufficient in terms of number but deficient in terms of knowledge. Supporting materials for stress relaxation service include leaflets and handouts 79.1 percent. Budget for stress relaxation is fairly sufficient. Of which 30.2 percent is supported by the hospital. Operating problems of stress relaxation service are deficient staff, impersonal service space, lacking supporting materials,no direct support from the top, small number of users, and unclear operating procedures.
