Modern era od psychaitry in Thailand started in 1912 when the first mental hospital of the countrywa established. The article generally deals with history of education in Psychiatry, mostly in medical schools. Psychiatry was first put into medical cirriculum in 1934. Since then it has been gradaully expanded and more accepted. According to the writer's own opinion, one of the problems pertaining to teaching of Psychiatry to undergraduate medical students is the bias of some medical instructors. The official post graduate training in Psychiatry started in 1955. A new move in 1971 is the operation of a brief intensive refresher coures in Psychiatry for physicians and general practitioners, which will take place at Somdet Chao Praya Hospital.
