This quasi-experimental study was designed to evaluate the effect of life skills development module on AIDS prevention among vocational students in phrae paticularly on the aspects of decision making, negotiation attitude and self-esteem. The concepts of life skills development proposed by WHO based on social learning theory were applied and used during the intervention. A sample of 81 third year vocational students participated in this study. They were assigned as an experimental group (n=40) and a control group (n=41) by simple random sampling technique. There sessions of life skills development module on AIDS prevention were conducted on the experimental group. Self administered questionnaires were used for data collection through three assessments: one week before the intervention and one and four weeks after conducting the module. Descriptive and inferential statistics such as student's t-test, paired t-test were used for data analysis. Results revealed that average decision making negotiation attitude and self esteem aspects of the experimental group were statistica;;y higher than those before the experiment and than those of the control group (p‹0.05). If vocational or secondary schools will pay attention to and apply this intervention technique for all students, these students will gain proper life skills and at the same time increase effective learning too.
