The author describes in details the psychodysleptic drugs under a review of many interesing pertinent literatures. The drugs aare classified as being a group of psychotropic drugs, generally called hallucinogens. The name of which derived from their property to produce such symptom of hallucination. In brief, they are chemically categorized into 3 subgroups:- the phenyletylanine or adrenergic related group, e.g. messcaline; the tryptamine group such as psilocybin, L.S.D. ; and the hetergeneous group as marihuana. A subject or a patients who receives a drug of this group will develop Model Psychosis which has been elaborated. Investigators of the drugs are devided into 3 groups. The first one, the psycholytic group, utilize L.S.D. therapeutically for psychoanalytically oriented type of psychotherapy. The second one, the psychedelic group, ude L.S.D. advantageously for the treatment of alcoholism. The last group are the behaviorists who use the drugs solely for research purpose. The article deals also with the advantages the disadvantages of the drugs, administrations and side-effects of them.
