As an instructor of psychiatry in a medical school, the author was enthusiastic tos tudy the attitude of medical students towards psychiatry, and the consequent outcome of the didactic instruction. Generally speaking, Psychiatry has been relatively more, accepted by public, yet understanding in the scope of the subject is still insufficient and inadequte. 22 questionares were distributed to 311 medical students of 4 grades of educational levels at Chulalongkorn Hospital Statistical evidence reveals that the attitudeof the students towards Psychiatry shifts to the positive side as they learn more about Psychiatry, which in comparison is better than that of the Malaysian and Indian students reported by others. The author wishes to extents futher longitudinal study of the same project in the future.
