We studied volatile substance patients who had been stayed in Thanyarak Hospital in rehabilitation period during 1993-1995. We found that 107 cases were 10-32 years old. Average age was 15.4 years. Most of them were in Bangkok and neighbourhood. We found abnormal neurological finding in 6 cases, abnormal psychological disorder in 8 cases, and behavior deviation in 25 cases. Abnormal finding were not related to duration of volatile usage. Biopsychological nurses should understand the real problems so that they can help the patients after detoxification and continue treatment and rehabilitation in the Therapeutic community. Changing of behavior, attitude, adaptation in daily life and learning to live in social without drug.
