This descriptive study aimed to explore stress among nurse students in Northeastern Thailand. The sample of the study included 975 students who were attending the second, third and fouth year in four nursing colleges and one faculty of nursing in the Northeast of Thailand. Those nursing institues were faculty of Nursing at Khon Haen University, Srimahasarakham Nursing College, Nakornratchasrima Nursing College, Udothani Nursing College and Sapasithiprasong Nursing College. The tool for this study was questionaires consisting of two main parts; the Health Opinion Survey by Allister M. Macmillan 1957 and the Survey on stressors developed by the researcher. Questionaires were examined for content validity by five experts and for reliability to have 0.82 for the Health Opinion Survey and 0.8 for the Survey on stressors. Data were analysed using percentage, means, standard deviation and t-test. Results indicated the followings. 1. There were 83.3% of nurse students in the Facully of Nursing at Khon Kaen University who had low level of stress whereas 16.7% of them had high level of stress. Whereas 100% of nurse students from other four nursing colleges were found to have low level of stress. 2. There was significant difference in various stressors among nurse students from four nursing colleges and one faculty of nursing at level 0.0000. Among nurse students from the Faculty of Nursing at Khon Kaen University, environmental stressors were found to highly cause stress. Whereas other stressors such as experience in practical part, theoretical part and interpersonal relationship also caused stress respectively. 3. There was no signigicant difference in level of stress among nurse students from the Faculty of Nursing and four nursing colleges.
