This study was carried out at Srithunya Hospital Nondhaburi from 1969 to 1972. There were 38 female patients whose received I131 Thyroid function test at he Women's Hospital in Bangkok. Twelve patients revealed instances of hyper thyriod with psychosed. While the maximum thyroid up take ranged from 61 to 92%. Psychotic sympthomsof hyperthyroid patients were similar to symptoms of schizophrenia, manic-depressive and toxic psychosis depending on their peculiar personlity. The conbination treatment, I131 and tranquilizers were available in the beginning. Supportive psychotherapy was also given after acute symptoms subsided. Almost all patients have been followed up, and the resuit of treatment is satisfactory.
