แหล่งที่มา/Source: Journal of The Psychiatric Association of Thailand, Vol. 26, No. 2, June 1981, Page 61-66

รายละเอียด / Details:

The study is aimed at finding the effect of family encironment of the patient so as to get a clear answer in respect to the understanding and acceptance of the schizophrenic, by using data from 30 cases of schizophrenic readmissions and 33 relatives of the patients. It was statistically significant that the majority of relatives lacked knowledge and understanding of schizophrenia. Reagarding acceptance, 60% of the patients readmitted to the hospital had their respects lowered or had not been respected at all by relative or members of fa,ily. Though the answers of a majority of relatives is different from the patients, the difference, howere, is not statistically significant. The opinions of both groups are subjective to the belief and the social attitude toward schizophrenia. Further, results of home-visit also confirmed the unreadiness in every aspect of the family to take back the patient.
