A study of clinical manifestations of anxiety neurosis in 180 patients who attended the out-patient psychiatric clinic of Siriraj Hospital is carried out. The following characteristics were found;-1. Female was more common than male, 2. The most common age was between 15-30 years 3. The important predisposing factor was personality disorder, 4. Palpitation, dyspnea, tiredness and chest pain were among the most common symptoms, 5. One-tenth of the patients developed hyperventilation, 6. The symptoms in one-fifteenth simulated thyrotoxicosis, 7. One-fifteenth had auditory hallucinations. 8. Depressive symptoms were present in one-third, and 9. There was the history of alcoholic in their fathers more than in general population.
