This study compared stress between second and third year medical students Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital in academic year 1988-89. The subjects consisted of 192 second year and 177 third year medical students. Data collection wasdone by asking subjects to complete 2 questionnaires: Health Opinion Survey (HOS) and Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90). The questionnaires were completed by 138 second year and 148 third year medical students. The results indicated that there was a statistically significant difference in the 2 nd and 3rd year medical students who graduated by Conventional Merhod and Qualification Examination (types of graduation from high school). However it was found that the mean score of the 2 nd year students who graduated by Conventional Method was higher than by Qualification Examination. There was no statistically significant difference in sex, age and methods of university entrance.
