Pathological gambling creates problems to the patients, families and society. There are no prevalence study in Thailand. This is a pilot study about the prevalence of pathological gambling by South Oaks Gambling Screen. The prevalence of pathological gambling in employees of Mahidol University is 8 percent (15.3% of male, 5.4% of female). The most prevalent gambling types are lotteries and pokers. 12.5 percent of the subjects thought that they have psychological problems and 31.5 percent used to have suicidal idea.
