Many psychological factors have an effect on the acceptance or rejection of kidney transplantation. After transplantation, the recipient must make a great psychological adjustment. The donor, too must make a momentous decision when donation his kidney and, unavoidably, must deal with a lot of psychlolgical problems. Kidney transplantation really a psychiatrist as a liaison physician to take care of the psychiatric aspects in both the donor the recipient. A psychiatric perspective is presented in detail by the author in order to facilitate better care of donors and recipients.
