The study was undertaken in Koro Kirt district, Bang Pra-In, a rural area in Thailand, in May 1975. The methodology was to survey 43 adult people, be using questionaire technique enquiring aabout the understanding of psychological problems and how to handle them. The study showed thaat people in rural area had some knowledge about symptoms caused by psychological problems, although very few of them knew what a psychiatrist was. They did not really know to give the appropriate help to the patients. Results of the study suggests thaat improving the knowledgeof the people about psychiatric problems and their management, as well as cooperation of other professional fields in the community health team and key personel will be very useful to the public.
