A case of enteric fever salmonella group C is reported. The patient developed symptoms suggested acute schizphrenia and within a period of ten days clinical evidences of enteric fever with complicating encephalopathy became apparent. An appropriate treatment was given with rapid and complete recovery. It is suggested that enteric fever with encephalopathy should be considered in patients who develop schizophrenia-like psychosis with sudden onset and accompanied by fever.
