From Jan 1, 1988 to Dec 31, 1990, there were 133 sexual dysfunction patients, which represented 0.8 percent of psychiatric out-patients, at Srinagarind Hospital. Khon Kacn University. This number comprised 83.4 percent males and 16.6 percent females. In the male patients, the two most frequent sexual dysfuntions were erectile disorder and premature ejaculation. In the female patients the two most frequent sexual dysfunctions were hypoactive sexual desire and inhibited female orgasm. Most sexual dysfunctions were due to psychogenic causes, but 27.1 percent of male erectile disorders had biogenic causes. The four most frequent psychogenic causes were anxiety, marital problems or conflicts with sexual partners, depression and negative past experiences. The four most frequent biogenic causes of male ercctile disorder were psychotropic drugs,diseases of the brain and nervous system, vascular diseases, and hormonal diseases. The author suggests that sexual dusfunctions is an important and intcresting issuc and should be investigated more deeply
