The purposes of this research were to compare depression of students of different gender, academic achievement , family status and residence and to study the relationships among coping behavior, life satisfaction, social support and depression samples of this research comprised of 526 junior high school students in opportunity expansion schools, District of Muang, Surat Thani province, derived by a stratified randaomsampling technique. The research instruments were questionnaires developed by the researcher and the Children's depression inventory (CDI), Thai version. Percentage (5), arithmetic mean (X), standard deviation (SD), t-test, one-way ANOVA and Chi-square test (X ) were statistics used for analyzing the data. The results were as follows: 1. 41.6% of samples were found in depression. 2. Depression of samples with different gender and learning achievement were significantly different at a statistical level of .01 and .05. However, depression of samples with different family status and residence were not significantly different. 3. There were no relationships between the problem-focused coping behavior and depression. There were significantly different relationships among the emotional-focused coping behavior and depression, life satisfaction and depressions including social support and depression at progressively statistical level of .05, .001 and .001. 4. There were significantly different relationships among coping behavior and life satisfaction, coping behavior and social support, including life satisfaction and social support at progressively statistical level of .05, .001 and .001.
