Patients satisfaction is an ultimate goal for continuous quality-improvement of Suanprung Psychiatric Hospital. The purpose of this study was therefore, to investigate the level of patient satisfaction with in-patient service at Suanprung Hospital. The study sample was 376 hospitalized psychiatric in-patinets during February to March, 2003. The research instrument was a questionnaire developed by the investigator based on the hospital quality indicators of jirut Srirattanabun and associates 2000. The instrument demonstrated content validity and reliability which was 0.93 and 0.97 respectively. Data were analzsed by descriptive statistics. The major results revealed that 66.75 percents of sample had the overall score of satisfaction with services at Suanorung Psychiatric Hospital at the highest level. Cosidering to each aspect, it was also at highest level. These included safety 66.76%, efficiency 65.96%, accountability 65.96%, effectiveness 65.43%, commitment 62.77%, continuity 61.70%, competence 59.67%, appropriateness 56.92%, and accessibility 55.05%. Althouth the patient satisfaction obtained from this study is at the highest level, the quality do not yet meet the goal of the hospital. Therefore, the services should be continuous improvement in all dimensions, especially the dimension of accessibility, appropriateness, and competence. So as produce the quality of service continuously.
