Nowadays, Amphetamine addiction is a serious psycho physiological problem in health care system due to its widespread and impacts. This is a urgent issue that needed to be treated in order that the addicted can function their daily life and live with another people. The purpose of this descriptive study was to study the demographic data in 41 amphetamine-induced psychotic patients who were hospitalized in Somdet Chaopraya Psychiatric hospital during October 1st 2001 to April 30th 2002. Psychological data and addicted behavior were assessed by the structured-interviewed questionnaires developed by the researcher team. Brief psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) was used to assessed the psychotic symptoms. The data was analyzes descriptively by SPSS/FW. The results are : 1. 73.2 % of amphetamine-induced psychotic patients were male. Most of them were under 25 years, unemployment. The educational level was primary school level. (Oratomsuksa level) 2. Amphetamine was used spontaneously. The common route of administration was inhalation. The reasons of use were as follow : 2.1 To reduce their frustration 2.2 To revenge their family members 3. The psychotic symptoms were similar to those of Schizophrenic, paranoid type. According to this study, the further investigation should be a qualitative study in frustration, the expectation and family relationship of the patients.
