Objective The objective of this study was to identify the coping styles of juvenile delinquents and examine the coping patterns which lead to behavioral problems and maladaptation. Furthermore, the study aimed to examine the relationships between factors : gender, intelligence, perceived social support, types of offenses, and frequency of arrest and coping style. Method: One hundred twenty juvenile delinquents who were referred to the juvenile and Family Counseling Center for psychological assessment or therapy were studied. The subjects were asked to completes four data collection including the general background questionnaire, the Thai versions of the Personal Resource Questionnaire, the Standard Progressive Matrices and the Assessment of Coping Style : Form Y. Result The results revealed that 88.3 percent of subjects had appropriate coping patterns. Among this group. Internalized avoidance coping style was most frequently used. Only 11.7 percent of subjects had inflexible coping patterns. Most of the inflexible pattern group was extremely focused on externalized avoidance. There were no relationships between coping style and independent variables except for the variable types of offenses. A significant difference in externalized attack coping style was found between the subjects who committed property offenses and those who committed other offenses.
