แหล่งที่มา/Source: Journal of Clinical Psychology, Vol. 8, No. 1, April 1977. Page 36-43.

รายละเอียด / Details:

The study on layman's attitude toward suicide was done with a group of 170 subjects, 8. Males and 87 females. Most subjects were Buddhists with fairly good educational background. The results of the study indicated that most subjects did not really want to die. They thought of suicidal commitment as a very sinful behavior. For most male subjects, the reason they considered suicidal commitment as sinful behavior was because those who committed suicide broke the rules of Buddhist teaching : and for most female subjects, too early to destroy human life was their reason. And for those who did not think that suicidal commitment was so sinful gave the same reason that it was the right of each individual to do so as long as it did not cause troubles to other people. Furthermore most subjects all agreed that the most common causes of suicidal commitment was basically psychological.
