From March to September 1998, mental status and multiple self-report mental health questionnaires, were studied in 100 recurrent schizophrenic patients and 100 nonrecurrent schizophrenic patients who had steady follow up over more than 2 years at Prasat Neurological Institute. The questionaires data were collected and analyzed by case-control study using odds ration to study risk factors in recurrent schizophrenia. Three factors capability to prevent recurrent schizophrenia were health mental mechanism, good response to drug treatment and consistent of drug intake. The other factors were not statistically significant.
