รายละเอียด / Details:

The purposes of this research were to identify level of patient satisfaction with nursing care and to determine factors predicting patient satisfaction with nursing care received during intrapartum. This study was conducted in a selected regional hospital in southern Thailand. The sample consisted of 525 postpartum women who gave birth during December 2000 through February 2001. Three questionnaires were used including 1) Demographic Characteristics and History of Pregnancy and Intrapartum Questionnaire, 2) Patient Satisfaction with Health Care Service Questionnaire, and 3) the Perceived Stress Scale. The questionnaire were administered no earlier than 12 hours postpartum for women who had vaginal delivery or 24 hours postpartum for those who had cesarean section. Data were also collected from mothers and newborn’s hospital record charts. The findings showed that the majority of the postpartum women 68.5% were moderately satisfied with nursing care whereas almost 15% of them were dissatisfied with nursing care. Moreover, seven variables including mothers’ expectation of baby gender, apgar score at 1 minute, housekeeping, accessibility/convenience, finances, availability of resources, and stress are good predictor of patient satisfaction with nursing care which can be accounted for 45% of variance.
