An evaluation of training on interviewing procedure for child witnesses, as stipulated by Evidence Amendment Act to the Criminal Laws (1999), was aimed to follow up outcomes of the training program for the participants. The study was devided into 2 stages; firstly collected from 719 paticipants who had undergone the training administered by the Department of Mental Health, and then 6 months, ater 429 completely filled questionnaires from participants were received by mail. Percentage, T-Test, Chi-Square were analysed. The results of the study revealed that 83.9% of participants were able to express knowledge and gained additional experience after completing the program. 68% of them showed high confidence to apply the gained-knowledge to their work. After 6 months of follow-up, 55.7% of participants believed the program was useful for their interviewing procedure of child witness. 61.9% showed high satisfaction to perform work, and 51.2% were reluctant to continue their duty. Pre and post participants knowledge was statistically different. Result reiterates that 47.8% of participant were registered with the Ministry of Justice. However, there were few obstacled in program excution: participants felt that they were not well-prepared for the assigned job and still needed team support, seminars and academic sumposium from the Department of Mental Health In summary, the study showed general picture of the training on interviewing procedure for child witness, and critical information for training process, working circumstances, following up program as will as obstacles and further supportive needs were discussed.
