Amphetamine Psychosis is classified as organic brain syndrome. Twenty-seven admitted cases at Srithanya Mental Hospital in February 1998 were studied. Poor judgement, aggression, insomnia paranoid ideation, bizzare behavior, hallucination, confusion and mood disorders were psychotice symptoms found consecutively. Although these symptoms are effected from direct stimulation of amphetamine on central nervous system through catecholamine system, they also vary individual premorbid psychopathology. Hence, further studies on promorbid psychopathology are recommeded.
