The author reviewed seven literatures from Thailand and Malaysia, about mass possession or epidemic hysteria. Cross-cultural study of Thai and Malaysian girls was done. Factors contributing to the epidemic included the personality of head master, social, the character of the student body are somewhat similar The native interpretation of the outbreak was mass spirit possession in both countries. Then native healers played an importance Role on the beginning of the out break.
