The modern era of psychotropic drug is generally agreed to begin by the introduction of chlorpromazine in 1952. Since then many other major tranquilizer,antidepresant and anxiolytic have been marketed. One in escapable outcome of this pharmacotherapeutic revolution is that the practicing psychiatrist must be competent to prescribe psychotropic drugs. His knowledge of pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetics must be comprehensive. This article reviews basic principle of clinical psychopharmacokinetic.Full theoretical exposition should be found elsewhere.
