The study reports the stress measurement of a sample of Thai children in Bangkok, Thailand. A quick, simple psychosomatic symptoms checklist, an apparently effective stress scale named the Health Opinion Survey (HOS) was applied to a randomly selected group of 5,240 school children, of grades 1-12, ages 5-21 years. The HOS score has a potential range between low and high stress of 20-60 The mean stress score of the whole population is 31.91 with the score range 20-55, and a standard deviation of 5.206. The cut off score of 37 was used to identify the high stress children, with stress score of 37 and above. There are 2 peaks of score by age, at 10-13 and 18-20 years Girls had higher stress score in comparing to boys. The popular symptoms expresses by the Thai children are also presented.
