An episode of Epidemic Hysteria in a school involving twelve Thai girls of Buddhist faith was described. The school is located nearly 350 kilometers from Bangkok in Petchaboon province. The authors conducted interviews and group interviews with persons involved, including the students, teachers, parents, the headmaster and members of the Chonpri Community. The native interpretation of the out break was due to possession by offended spirits called Nang Takien (Wood spirits) Knowledge of the psychodynamic and factors involved in these cases are applied by the authors and his staffs. Few factors contributing to this episode included personalities of the students, teachers and traditional healers.
