รายละเอียด / Details:

The patients’ attitudes toward pharmaceutical services are the most important guidance to improve our pharmaceutical services. Pharmacists of the department of pharmacy, Som Det Chaopraya Hospital, built up 20 questionnaires and the patients were asked to fill them up. The authors found out the 73% of the patients needed direct contact with pharmacist for drugs problems. This supports our hypothesis that the patients are interested in clinical pharmaceutical services. 88% of them felse when they received their traditional pharmaceutical services from the department of pharmacy at Somdet Chaopraya Hospital, and 60% of them complained about wasting their times at our department more than the others in the hospital. Results of this investigation were beneficial to improve our services. In addition, this study showed that 30% of the patients were unemployed : this was approximately 4 times higher than the record of the National Statistical office that was collected in January - March 1978 , 54% of them received low income (less than 2000 bath). Most of them (95.16%) were steady patients and regularly visited psychiatrists, more than 50% made one visit per month. Thus we could assume that most of them were poor. Psychosis & neurosis were chronic diseases that led to economical less. 95% of the patient were in active working age, this was the cause of wasting some economical power. According to hospital policy, most of the patients (71.73%) visited the same psychiatrist and 32% did not take their medications according to prescriptions at the time of study.
