The author has reported a 23 year old female who developed symptoms of severe weitht loss, anorexia and amenorrhea. Theoretical consideration was discussed. Sucking concerns the infant with in a few hours of birth, and the importance of food continues throughout life food, quite apart from its nutritive value, acquire psychlogical connotations and the giving of food is symbolic of friendship and love in all countries of the world. It is not therefore surprising that an alteration of appetite can be an expression of a psychological disorder which the auther regards anorexia nervosa is one form of them.
