Drug addict is a serious problem in the past 2-3 years. Amphetamine, Inhalant and Heroin are wide spread in teengers. The prospective study of drug addict in 311 young people at Thanyarak Hospital during October 1997-September 1998 was done male 284, female 27. The education above primary school was found in 67.6 percent of the case. Twenty seven percent were students. About sixty-nine percent of male cases have ear pina punctured while 22.5 percent had tattoo. Most of the patients are heroin addict and the younger group use drug and substance 1.2-2.8 years earlier than the older group. Anti HIV+ve was found in 16.2 percent of IVDU and 6.7 percent of SDU. Sucessful of treatment by Methadone Program in 2 weeks course was found in 49.8 percent of the cases.
