A 13 year old Buddhist monk presented with severe abdominal pain was explored laparotomy and went under various invasive investigation by a surgeon, a pediatrician, and a pediatric surgeon for 35 days without any improvement. After psychiatric consultation, he was diagnosed as Major Depression by DSM 3-R criteria and treated by supportive psychotherapy accompanied with amitriptyline 75mg/D. Remission occurred and ne recurrence after 3-months follow up .
