Psychiatric services are separately provided apart from mainstream services, particularly in the primary care setting. Evidences had shown the significant lack of recognition of mental disorders in general medical practice obstructing the integration process. According to the University coverage Health Insurance, Ministry of Public Health set the primary care units PCU which started in 3 provinces, namely; Pranakornsri Ayudthaya, Nakornrachasima and Sonkla. In addition, the psychosocial care was one of the services in the PCUs, however clear concept of integrating psychiatric services into primary and secondary care settings was not established. The author reviewed related articles and proposed a model of psychiatric services integrated into PCU.
