The VDO and recorded tapes about crisis negotiation were self – leaning media for policemen. The objective of this study was to evaluate accessibility , appropriateness and efficiency of the training media used by the police. The sample were 133 policemen in Bangkok Metropolitan Area, who were the users of the media. Data collection instrument was the interview guideline comprising 3 parts. The first part was a set of 4 questions regarding accessibility to media ; the second part was a set of 4 questions concerning the appropriateness of the media ; and the thjird part was a set of 4 questions concerning the efficiency of the media. Focus group technique was applied tocollect the data from 10 groups, 12 – 18 persons for each. The data were interpreted by content analysis. The findings from this research showed that the media were partially accessible by these policemen. The VDO tapes were preferable to the recorded tapes. The samples pointed out that the format, content, time, language, and presentation of both types of media were appropriate. The presentation of picture in VDO tapes created easy and clear identifying each step of crisis intervention for each case. Tone of voice and language usage in conversation in the record tapes were congruent for each situation made the recorded tapes. Both of the media were helpful and efficient regarding the language used the cler demonstation. In addition, the knowledge gained from both media was easy adjusted. Inconclusion, both were essential tools of technical know – hows to be opted for crisis resolution and management. Moreover, they helped built up the policemen’s first experience and readiness in dealing with the real crisis situation in order to reduce violence an loss of the situation. However, the coverage of distribution should be managed. Continuous developing of the technology and manual for various complicated situation were recommended.
