Somdet chaopraya Hospital has been working on telephone counselling. This objectives were to study characteristics of population, problem charateristics, the number of clients, counsellor's satisfaction level and the relation about population and counsellor's satisfaction. Data collected from 164 clients, 61 counsellor. Percentage and Chi-square test were used in data analysis. The results were female 68.9%, single 60.4%, bachelor degree 42.1%. Most of the problems were mental abnormalities, neurotic symptoms, stress and anxiety, with the percentage of thirtynine. During 4-12 p.m. was the period most preverred used 57.3%. The counsellors were females 98.3%, 41-50 years old 48.3%, married and living together 63.3%, with more than 20 years of working experience 50%, having 2-3 years experience on telphone counselling 78.3%, satisfied with the service 18.3%, satisfied with the place and instruments 58.3%. The relation between demographic characteristics and counsellor's satisfaction was not found. The conclusions were:those with mental problems still preferred to use telephone counselling where as cousellors were low level satisfied with giving service. Should there be changes of service hours, wages, places and instruments, or more telephone line, with more collaboration hospitals. These would be give to the clients and better satisfaction in the counsellors.
