Objective: To study the phenomenon of “Weak Heart” perceived by the patients who were living in Khon Kaen province. Methods: Qualitative study was conducted; key informants were the persons who defined themselves to be “Weak Heart” community leaders and people in the same community. The researchers were collected data by in depth interviewed focused group disussion, taped record, and notes. Fielding’s technique used to analyze data. Results: Weak Heart was the state that the patients defined by symptoms of heart such as; disheartened (frightened or weak hearted: Hua-ji-on, Ji-suun), respiration such as; shortness of breathing mind or emotion such as; frightened, sensitive,depression, neurological symptom such as; fatique, like to be fainting. Perception of the causes was loss of significant person, nervous, loneliness and hearing of the quarrel or loud noise. Self-determined, health personal, and people in their community determined diagnosis. Consequence was dependency role, impair function, family concern and financial burden. Being calmed, distracting, caring be families, and receiving treatment from health personal did management of the symptoms. Conclusion: The result revealed the perception and feeling of “Weak Heart” patients involving symptoms, diagnosis, causes, consequence, and health management. Health personnel should aware and understand the different perspective of health in order to develop a suitable approach
