Background : The objective of this study was to assess the reliability and validity of the Thai version of the Montgomery Asberg Depression Rating (MADRS) the sample of 70 patients with depressive disorders. Methods : In this study, a cross-sectional design was used. The Thai version of the MADRS was developed through forward-backward translation techniques and reviewed for content validity by five experts. The psychometric method was finally used to test the reliability and validity of the Thai version. Results: The reliability of the Thai version of the MADRS with integrate reliability Kappa correlation was equal to 0.78, and internal consistency for all scale was 0.8048 (Cronbach's alpha). Conclusions: The findings of this study supports the use of the Thai version of MADRS as an outcome measure to assess depressive symptoms in Thai patients
