The objective of this study was to survey the satisfaction following pre and postoperative visits for patients of the surgical department, Ramathibodi Hospital. Patients were sampled from 9 surgical wards of the surgical department during the month of september, 2002. Questionnaires mesuring stisfaction were sent to 77 patients; 44 were returned (57.14%). From this survey it was found that 95.45% of patients were either very satisfied or higly satisfied with the pre/post operative visits. It was suggested that personnel directly involved with pre and post operative visits improve on these visits so that patients may be more satisfied with the service and will thus more likey return to the hospital in the future.
