The purpose of this research was to measure effect ofsocial skill training of chronic psychiatric patients in Srithanya Hospital. Patients were matched age, educational Level, period of illness, behaviors and expression patterns. They were assigned into study groups (n=10) and control groups (n=10). Both groups were same rehabilitation program but the study groups were combined with the social skills of relationahip,communication, decision and rejection3 times per week, one hour each time, within2 months. Study instrument were Social Skill Forms and Behavior Observation forms. The instrument were used for 2 day before and after program. The data presented by mean, standard deviation and t-test. Result found that after intervention the study groups were change significantly in behavior and social skill. From this study suggested that the social skill training are effective for chronic psychiatric patients and can be used for promotion patient social skill before discharge to community.
