The purposes of this study were (1) to identify the Level of stress Management behaviors among Thai Muslim high-school adolescents in three border provinces in southem Thailand, and(2 ) to examine factors influencing stress management behaviors. Prior related behaviora, self-efficacy,situational in fluences, religious practices and perceived stress were included as criterion variables in this study. Two hundred and seventy two subjects were selected by cluster sampling method in both govemmental and religious high school in Pattani, Narathiwat and Yala Provinces. Six instruments: Stress Management Behaviors questionnaire, Prior Related Behaviors questionnaire,Self-efficacy questionnaire, Situational influences questionnaire,Religious Practice questionnire and The Cohen’sPerceived Stress Scale were used in this study.All six instruments were tested for internal conaistency.The Cronbachalpha values were .80,.76,.89,.71,.89, and .78 respectively. The study found that (1)Thai Muslim high-school adolescents had a mean total score of stress management behaviors and mean of all three subscales at moderate level;(2) self-efficacy,prior related behaviors, and religious practice stress management behaviors among Thai Muslim high-school adolescents in three border provinces in southem Thailand.All three variables explained48%of the variance in stress management behaviors. Self- efficacy was the most powerful influencing variable. Situational influences and perceived stress could not predict stress management behaviors in these subjects. Findings From this study suggest that Thai Muslim high – school adolescents could be improve their stress management Behaviors Health care providers should enhance adolescents’ perception of their competencies, enhance their positive stress management behaviors since childhood and encourage adolescents to use religious practice in stress management
