Data regarding rehospitalization status were collected from all patients with schizophrenia who were discharged from inpatient department of Srithanya Psychiatric Hospital while taking clozapine n=50, olanzapine n=50 risperidone n=30 or quetiapine n=17 between January 1,2002, and December 31, 2002, and a group of patients discharged during that time who were treated with conventional antipsychotics n=50. Patients were follow up with respect to readmission over a two-year period. Survival curves were estimated by the product-limit (Kaplan-Meier). The results showed that the rehospitalization rates of patients treated with clozapine, olanzapine, risperidone, quetiapine and conventional antipsychotics were 62%, 64%, 43.3%, 47.1%, and 58% respectively.
