Objective To study the correlation between total scores of Thai Delirium Rating Scale and the severity of delirium . Method Forty delirious patients were assessed with Thai Delirium Rating Scale, Global Assessment Scores, and Thai Mini Mental Status Examination. Correlation of the 3 assessment scales were investigated. Results The summation of 5-item scores in Thai Delirium Rating Scale (item 5 : psychomotor activity, item 6 : cognitive status during formal testing, item 8 : sleep-wake cycle disturbance, item 9 : lability of mood, and item10 : variability of symptoms) was highly correspond with the severity of delirium. Conclusions The 5-item version of TDRS can be used to indicate the severity of delirium.
