The purposes of this qausi-experimental research were to compare the length of stay, cost of care service satisfaction of patient and relative, and relapse rate among schizophrenic patients whom received regular service and those whom received case management. The samples consisted of 50 schizophrenic patients who were inpatient and 50 relatives which divided into the control group which received regular service and the experimental group which received case management care (25 patients and 25 relatives in each group). The instruments were case management guideline, prospective care plan for acute schizophrenic patients, cost of care and length of stay recording form, service satisfaction of patient and relative questionnaire. These instruments were previously established by the 12 experts. The validity was 96. Data were analyzed t-test. The results revealed that the mean scores of the length of stay and the cost of care of schizophrenic patients in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, at 05 level. The mean scores of service satisfaction of patient and relative in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, at .05 level. The relapse rate of schizophrenic patients within 3 and 6 months after dischare period in the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, at .05 level. Therefore case mangement service should be applied for any case of schizophrenia and others psychotic disorders in the tertiary psychiatric hospital.
