The purpose of this quai-experimental study was to examine the effects of Social Skill Training on Life Skill Profile of Schizophrenic Patients. The sample consisted of Schizophrenic patients attending in patient department of Srithanya Hospital during March to July 2004. The samples were randomly assigned into experimental group 16 persons and in to control group 16 persons. The experimental group were provided with 1 hour of group social skill training for 12 times whereas the control group were provided with regular intervention in the ward. Research tools where structured interview and group recording form descriptive analysis and T-test were computed to test hypothesis. Content analysis was carried out for group recording scripts. Results yielded that: 1.Post test scores yield a very significant difference (P‹.05) at post treatment 1 and 4 weeks and follow up at 8 weeks not significant difference. 2.Universality imparting of information and altruism were found in the experiment group.
