Objective To assess the reliability and validity of the Behavior and Symptom Identification Scale (BASIS-32) Thai version in 100 samples of patients with mental disorder. Method Cross–sectional study. A Thai version of the BASIS-32 was developed through forward-backward translation techniques and reviewed with 5 contents experts and using psychometric method to test the reliability and validity of the Thai version. Results The reliability of the BASIS-32 Thai version with test-retest Pearson correlation was 0.76 and the internal consistency for all scale was above 0.7 (Cronbach’s alpha) except for the daily living and role functioning domain and psychosis domain. The scale’s coefficient of total items was 0.9349 . Conclusions This study supports the use of BASIS-32 Thai version as an outcome measure to assess symptoms and problems from the patient's perspective . This instrument can be used for outcome assessment in most Thai psychiatric patients.
