Pathological gambling is a disabling disorder that affects people around the world. Essential features of pathological gambling involve constantly recurring gambling behavior. This behavior is maladaptive and consequently, personal life, family life, social life, and/or vocational life could be disrupted. Several studies have shown a high prevalence of pathological gambling among adult population. This research is a pilot study about the prevalence of pathological gambling. The questionnaires used in this research is based on the South Oaks Gambling Screen survey. The prevalence of pathological gambling among employees of Nakornprathom Hospital is 7.5% (22.7% of male, 5.8% of female). The three most important risk factors are being a drug addict, being educated under secondary school level, and being a male gender. The most prevalent gambling types are lotteries and pokers. Twenty-five per cent of the respondents think that they have psychological problems and 18.8% used to have suicidal idea.
