This survey-approach study is carried out for the purpose of studying the factors affecting the student's mental health. The sample of 502 students of Rajchabhat Petburiwittayalingkorn Institute was randomly selected systematically. The General Health Questionnaire (GHQ28) 28 was used for data collection. The data were colleted during January to February 1999. The percentage distribution and Chi-square test were used for data analysis. Tasults of the analysis showed that the prevalence rate of mental problem was 24% and factors which significantly affect student's mental health (p‹0.05) were sex, chronic illness, adequacy of income, time and schedule of study, major of study, and daily life problem. Result of the study suggest that the Institute should provide students with special activities for both mental health promotion and mental health problems preventions. Those activities should be focused on female students, students with chronic diseases, students with insufficient income, students in the weekday evening class, Art science students and students who have more than 5 daily life problems.
