The purpose of this study is to find out self-esteem, risk of behaviors for amphetamine abuse and the correlation between self-esteem and risk of behaviors among students in secondary schools, Muang district, mahasarakham province. The 403 sample were selected from to all 8,126 students in six students in secondary schools in Muang district, Mahasarakham province, by stratified random sampling eighth proportional allocation. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed though correlation, factors analysis with Varian rotation the results are shown below: It was found that students' self-esteem was in a high level; especially the amphetamine abuse was 5.10% almost of them are in Mathayom 3 which was 40.00% there were 8 risk of behaviors which was 55.39% for amphetamine abuse as the following : information perception, motivation of abuse, amphetamine avoids, emotional quotient problem solving self-defense seeking source of drug and attitude towards amphetamine. The correlation between self-esteem and risk of behaviors was low (r=0.27). However self-esteem of the drug abusers was significantly lower than that of non abusers. The results for this study will lead to prevent risk behaviors for amphetamine abuse. By organizations involved in adolescents responsibility can be promote activities for self-esteem.
